My Favorite Red

Welcome to Tuesday Boozeday!  A new post every Tuesday in celebration of making it past the dreaded first day of the week.  Whether it’s back to work, back to school or back to the daily grind of life after a (too short) weekend; kick back and relax with today’s cocktail and prepare to own the rest of the week.

Today’s drink:  My Favorite Red

I’m not typically what you would call a wine drinker.  If I’m given a choice, most of the time I’ll choose beer or a simple cocktail.  I do enjoy drinking wine (maintaining that I know little about varieties and tasting terms) and I’ve tried A LOT of it.  The cliché adage of not judging a book by its cover did not translate to pretty alcohol packaging for me though.  I choose new wine to try based solely on the appearance of the bottle! Or…when one of my amazing (actual) wine drinking friends recommend one.  When I find one I love and the bottle is pretty, that’s a double win.

Cupcake Vineyards Black Forest Decadent Red.  This is the wine that absolutely changed my mind about reds.  For a long time, I steered clear of them thinking they were too dry, too bitter, or that maybe I just did NOT have the sophisticated palette to enjoy them.  I was wrong, and if you’re just dipping your toes in the wine isle like me, you need to try this one.  I would try to describe the taste for you, but I know I would butcher the descriptive not inspiring anyone to try it, so just look at the picture for inspiration!

Pour a glass, sit back and relax with a glass on this Tuesday evening.  Wine always makes me feel like a classy drinker, and now you can be one too.
