Kahlua Perk Up

Welcome to Tuesday Boozeday!  A new post every Tuesday in celebration of making it past the dreaded first day of the week.  Whether it’s back to work, back to school or back to the daily grind of life after a (too short) weekend; kick back and relax with today’s cocktail and prepare to own the rest of the week.

Today’s drink:  Kahlua Perk Up

First off, I wish I could drink this every morning…but since I do have to function at work, it’s reserved for post-dinner and weekend mornings.  This blended coffee and Kahlua makes me want to curl up with a blanket on the couch even though the drink is brain-freeze inducing and it’s still hot and smoky in Oregon.  Even with the less-than-ideal weather conditions (or maybe because of them), I’ll pull out my softest blanket and turn the AC down to 68.  A total contradiction…I’ll roll with it.

In case you didn’t get the hint from my blog title, I love coffee.  I drink a lot of it and have an abnormal tolerance to the caffeine.  I’ll drink it black or fancied up.  Variety makes my mornings more exciting, just as long as there’s NO pumpkin spice anywhere near it.  When I’m confronted with my favorite beverage AND alcohol, it’s a winning combination.  Take coffee add Kahlua, the milk of your choice, and a little hazelnut liqueur and I’m done.

Can we also take a moment to appreciate how amazing the Ninja blenders are.  If you don’t have one, get one.  Good for blended coffee, shakes, and salsa!  I have the Ninja Pulse system, which is available here:  Ninja Kitchen System Pulse.  This was unavailable for a long time, so get it while you can! (and I’m sorry if it’s gone again)
