Honey-Lime Margarita

Welcome to Tuesday Boozeday!  A new post every Tuesday in celebration of making it past the dreaded first day of the week.  Whether it’s back to work, back to school or back to the daily grind of life after a (too short) weekend; kick back and relax with today’s cocktail and prepare to own the rest of the week.

Today’s drink:  Honey-Lime Margarita

It’s been cold this week.  We’re not buried in snow here or suffering from torrential down pour [yet] so I’m really not complaining.  I’m just saying that it’s been almost cold enough to make me turn on my heater…but not quite.  I’ve been thinking all day about a warm drink to settle down with, but if I’m being honest, nothing warms me up like a tequila buzz.  The warm glowy goodness of Mexico’s greatest contribution to my liquor cabinet.  I’ve already posted about my favorite margarita, see post here:  The Best Damn Margarita But this one has a little holiday flair!  A quick little honey syrup puts this one over the top, especially if traditional margaritas are too sour for you.

Please ignore my warped honey bottle.  I may or may not have had an incident with the microwave.


Honey-Lime Margarita

Servings 1 Drink

  • 1 oz Honey
  • 1.5 oz Warm Water
  • 1.5 oz Tequila
  • 4 oz Sweet & Sour Mix
  • Ice & Shaker


  1. Mix honey and warm water in small container and stir until dissolved.  (Heat in the microwave in 10 sec. increments if you need to)

  2. Set mixture aside and allow to cool slightly

  3. Fill shaker (or mason jar) with ice and build drink with tequila, sour mix, and honey syrup

  4. Shake until well combined

  5. Strain out over fresh ice in a pint glass and enjoy

  6. Repeat to stay warm!
